Episode 34: Slowshift: 'world going one way'
On this episode, Lauren is joined by the pioneering Norwegian jazz musician and composer, Kristoffer Lo.
As a trailblazer, Kristoffer has shaped the Norwegian music landscape with his unique fusion of cultural roots and avant-garde exploration, earning recognition both locally and internationally. He is affiliated with several notable bands, including Sunswitch and Highasakite.
Kristoffer joins Lauren to chat about his new band ‘Slowshift’ and their debut album ‘world going one way’. The band consists of Kristoffer Lo, Brynjar Leifsson (Of Monsters and Men), Tomas Järmyr, and Trondheimsoloists (16 piece string orchestra).
In January this year, the band released their debut album ‘world going one way’ via Amuse Records. The album is testament to their dexterity to take risks while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in music.
A celebration of some of Norway and Iceland’s finest musicians, Slowshift have crafted a sound that’s mesmerising and atmospheric, yet intimate and evocative.
